Rev. Bobby Hawley
The Rev. Bobby Hawley joined the Christian Church Foundation in November 1998 as an assistant vice president. He was promoted to vice president in 2000.
As vice president, he is responsible for working with individual members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as they explore ways to share their accumulated resources with their favorite Disciples causes. He also assists congregations, regions and church-affiliated organizations in the establishment of endowment policies and the management of endowment funds. Hawley, based in Fort Worth, TX., works in the Foundation’s South Central Zone, which includes Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
A Texas native, Bobby received his bachelor’s degree in social work from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth; his master of divinity from TCU’s Brite Divinity School; and his doctor of ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Austin, TX. He is a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) and a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE).
Before joining the Foundation, Bobby served nine years as senior minister at Bethany Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), El Paso, TX. He also has served as an associate minister at Alamo Heights Christian Church, San Antonio; and chaplain for Juliette Fowler Homes in Dallas.
He also has worked extensively with youth and youth organizations by directing workshops and presenting training seminars; and has served in a variety of capacities with programs on the local and regional level.
His wife, Diane, is professor of nursing at TCU’s Harris College of Nursing. They have three children.
