Rev. Dr. Darwin Collins

Vice President

The Rev. Dr. W. Darwin Collins has been vice president of the Christian Church Foundation for the Great Lakes Zone since September 2008. In this position, Rev. Collins works with the seven regions and the congregations and members within fifteen states that compose the Great Lakes Zone.

Before joining the Foundation, Darwin had been regional minister and president of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pennsylvania since September 1994.  

As regional minister, he represented the Pennsylvania Christian Churches in relationships with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada as well as inter-church activities and ecumenical relations.

Darwin received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972. In 1974, he attained a Master of Arts degree from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. From the same institution in 1976, Mr. Collins received a Master of Divinity Degree. He attained a Doctor of Ministry degree at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in 2003. He was honored by Bethany College in 2002 with an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree.

Ordained into the ministry in 1976 at Central Christian Church in Uniontown, he served that congregation as a student assistant, assistant minister and associate minister and became senior minister in 1980.

Darwin has served a variety of boards within the Christian Church, including the Commission on Ministry, General Board and as a board of director with Church Extension. He has been a trustee of Bethany College since 2002.
