Moving money to mission

Christian Church Foundation works with individual donors, congregations, regions, and other ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to determine their passion for ministry and discern together the best way they can use their gifts to support ministry.

Our Story

“We’ve chosen several ministries to receive the benefit of our donations and assets. The Christian Church Foundation has removed the confusion from our legacy planning and provided lasting charitable gifts that truly will make an eternal impact.”

I live by my dad’s motto, “you give until it feels good.” I chose a permanent fund, since there’s an “ease of creating a plan or adjusting your plan if your interests change or expand.” I give this gift because I believe, “the Church has created me, and I choose to create my legacy through the Church.”

Lindsey Jacobs

Years ago, we started a fund to which we occasionally add gifts, and we put in place a Permanent Fund Gift Agreement in our file with the Foundation. At the time our estate is settled, all money in our estate will go into that fund to be distributed as stated in that agreement. We are pleased that there is a way to support, both currently, and beyond our lives, the Disciple ministries we care most about.

In 2021 Phillips Theological Seminary moved much of its endowment fund to Christian Church Foundation. Not only does the Foundation’s values for just and compassionate investments align with those of Phillips, we are receiving higher returns at lower costs than what we were previously. And we are supporting the good work of the Foundation and our Church.
