2018 Disciples Senior Minister Leadership Conference

You are invited to participate in the 2018 Disciples Senior Minister Leadership Conference in Washington, DC, hosted by National City Christian Church.

The host hotel will be the Hamilton, located at 1001 14th St. NW, about 2 blocks from National City Christian Church.

Rev. Tom Berlin, senior pastor of Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon, VA, will speak on:

"The Generous Church: Equipping Pastors to Challenge Church Members to be the Generous People They've Always Wanted to be"

Tom's daylong presentation on Jan. 31 will include: 

  • What Does a Generous Church Look Like?
  • What Does it Take to Create a Generous Church?
  • What Resources to You Need to Develop a Generous Church?

The new Disciples new general minister and president, the Rev. Terri Hord Owens, will lead a conversation during the final session Thursday morning.

There is no registration cost. Attendees are responsible for individual travel, lodging and some meals. The Foundation will host a dinner Tuesday night, and provide lunch on Wednesday and breakfast on Thursday.

Lodging is available at the host hotel, the Hamilton. Rooms are available for $179 per night, plus tax, and the rate is available for up to 3 days before or after the conference. The hotel is within blocks of the Washington Metro.

The event will open with dinner at the hotel on Tuesday evening, Jan. 30. We will be at National City Christian Church Wednesday. Breakfast and dinner will be on your own Wednesday. We will have a group breakfast Thursday at the hotel with our final session.
